How to Add Bots

Once you've completed setup and selected your plan, it's time to add bot tokens. Bots are what deliver your DM campaigns to server members — the more you add, the faster and more reliably your messages are sent.

How Many Bots Do I Need?

We recommend adding at least 1 bot token per 2,500 members in your server. Here's a quick reference:

Tip: Adding more bots than the minimum will speed up delivery times, especially during your first campaign (more on that below).

Step 1: Create a Discord Bot and Get Your Token

To add a custom bot to Growtiko, you'll need a Discord bot token. Here's how to create one:

1. Go to the Discord Developer Portal.

2. Click "New Application" in the top-right corner and give it a name.

   

3. In the left sidebar, click "Bot".

   

4. Click "Reset Token" to generate your bot token, then copy it immediately and keep it safe i.e on notepad, you won't be able to see it again.

   
   

5. Scroll down and make sure the:

   
   "Presence Intent"
   "Server Members Intent"
   "Message Content Intent"
   
   toggles are enabled under Privileged Gateway Intents.

   

6. Repeat This process for as many bots as you need based on your server size. It’s tedious (we know) but luckily it only needs to be done once. If you face any issues or need help creating tokens, our team is ready to help. Just open live chat from bottom right of the page. 

Security note: Never share your bot tokens publicly. Treat them like passwords.

Step 2: Add Tokens to Growtiko

1. In your Growtiko dashboard, click the "Add Bots" tab on the left sidebar.

2. Paste each bot token into the token input field and click "Add".

3. Repeat until you've added all your tokens.

Step 3: Set Up Bot Profiles

For each bot you've added, you can configure a profile picture and display name directly from the Growtiko dashboard. Click “Bulk edit”. 

We highly recommend setting your bot names and profile pictures to match your server's branding. We also recommend using same name and picture for all bots. This makes the DMs feel familiar and trustworthy to your members, which leads to higher open and engagement rates.

Step 4: Verify Everything Looks Right

Before launching your first campaign, double-check that all your bots have:

• The correct display name matching your server

• The correct profile picture matching your server

• A status showing as online/active in the dashboard

You're All Set! 🎉

Congratulations, your bots are configured and ready to go. Head over to the "Broadcast" tab in your dashboard to send your first DM campaign.

A Note About Your First Campaign

Your very first campaign will be slower than normal due to list warm-up. This is a one-time process where Growtiko gradually allows your bots to message more members. Depending on your server size, the first send can take several hours or even a few days to fully complete.

After the warm-up period is complete, all future deliveries are lightning fast, even campaigns to hundreds of thousands of members should finish in just minutes.
